Transporting Motorcycles

When you choose to transport motorcycles with Santi Transport (santi.nl), the motorcycles are transported in crates with dimensions of 2.10m x 0.80m x 1.25m. For loading the motorcycles, there are various loading locations per event. At these locations, you can drop off your motorcycle and place it on the crate, along with other items you’d like to bring. Everything that fits within the crate dimensions is allowed.

Damage caused by friction during transport is not covered by insurance. Therefore, be mindful of how you pack the crate if you wish to do it yourself. If in doubt, Marcel (the driver and owner of Santi) will be there to help you. Each crate includes four standard tie-down straps. If you need more, don’t forget to bring them. Santi also has extra tie-down straps available for purchase at a reasonable price.

The crate is then sealed to keep your items securely together and prevent damage.

The motorcycle crates are loaded onto a trailer using a truck-mounted forklift. This fits into a special construction at the rear of the trailer and travels with the transport, ensuring that motorcycles can always be loaded and unloaded quickly and correctly.

If you want to bring additional items that don’t fit on one crate, you can indicate this in the transport agreement under remarks. You can also share crate space with others to save costs. Arrange this among yourselves so that you can hire an extra crate through Santi via the form: Transport Agreement.

Insurance

The motorcycles are, unlike regular transport, insured with extra coverage. (Regular transport is insured for approximately €9 per kilo.) These motorcycles are insured, including the luggage on the crate, for €10,000. If you want a higher insurance amount, that is always possible. The insured amount can be increased by 5‰ of the total amount to be insured above €10,000.

Policy Terms

Motorcycles are transported according to the G13 conditions, with an insured amount of €10,000 per motorcycle.
